URETHANE DIOLS
K-Flex urethane diols (Table 1) are recommended modifiers for hydroxy or carboxy functional resins in combination with amino crosslinkers or isocyanate resins for high solids and waterborne systems. They are low molecular weight aliphatic diols which allow the incorporation of urethane functionality through hydroxyl end groups. In waterborne systems, K-Flex UD-320W/350W, XM-2304 and XM-4306 can be used to replace co-solvents and primary resins, resulting in lower costs and lower VOC's. They also make possible the incorporation of aliphatic urethane functionality, with all the properties associated with aliphatic urethanes, without the use of isocyanates.
